U Story-The Ugly Girl 管理者 2011-07-23

The Ugly Girl

There was a girl who was very
unhappy because she thought she was ugly.
Every day she looked in the mirror and was very sad.

So she decided she should put an
umbrella over her head when she was outside.

When she went to school, she saw a boy she liked and wanted to talk to him.

But because she was so
unhappy and had an umbrella over her head, the boy thought she acted strange and didn’t want to talk to her.

This made her sadder, and she knew she had to do something to change the way she thought.

So she went to a merry-go-round and sat on the
unicorn and then made a wish for changing her looks and making her beautiful.

The
unicorn said, “Tomorrow when you wake up you will be beautiful on the outside.”

The next day when she looked in the mirror, she found she had changed and she looked beautiful.  But this made her act differently and the boy did not like the way she acted now, so he still didn’t talk to her.

She went back to the
unicorn and said, “You made me beautiful but I am still unhappy. Why can’t I be happy?”

The
unicorn said, “Just be yourself, don’t worry about what other people may think.”  The girl said, “But I don’t know what kind of girl I am.”  The unicorn said, “You are a happy girl, aren’t you?”

The next day the girl woke up and looked in the mirror.  When she looked in the mirror she didn’t see an
ugly girl. She didn’t see a beautiful girl, either.   She just saw a happy girl.

Her looks hadn’t changed but the way she felt about herself had.

When she went to school she saw the boy again and this time the boy came up to her and asked, “What kind of girl are you?”  She said, “I used to care what people said, but that made me sad and
unhappy. Now I don’t care and I am a happy girl. Do you care what people say?”

The boy said, “I don’t care what people say, but I do care what you say.  I think you are great. Will you be my friend?”

From that day on, the girl was always happy, because she knew who she was, and she knew who she wasn’t.

V Story-A Viking on Valentine’s Day 管理者 2011-07-22

A Viking on Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day was coming soon and the Viking still didn’t have a date.

The
Viking wasn’t a very nice man. Vikings were known for fighting, not for falling in love.

But this
Viking really wanted to have a date for Valentine’s Day; he just didn’t know how to be nice to women.

One day he saw a beautiful girl and tried again to ask for a date on
Valentine’s Day.  He said, “Hey you, you come here, you date me, you date me on Valentine’s Day.”

The girl walked up to him, slapped him, and said, “You are rude. I would never go on a date with a man like you.”

He didn’t know what else to do. He didn’t have much time. So he looked in the newspaper and there was an advertisement.

IF YOU WANT TO BE A BETTER MAN, AND WANT TO FALL IN LOVE ON
VALENTINE’S DAY, LET ME SHOW YOU, THE VAMPIRE.

At last, the
Viking thought maybe he could get help, and get a date on Valentine’s Day.

And at last, the
Vampire had a job to show a man how to be a better man.

The
Vampire said, “It is my job to show you how to be nice to women, to show you how to love a woman, and finally to show you how to be a better man.”

The
Viking said, “Great, I don’t know much about being nice. I don’t know much about loving a woman. The only thing I know about being a better man is to win a fight with another man.”

The
Vampire asked, “Are you ready for your lessons?”  The Viking said, “I am much more than ready. I need help now.  Valentine’s Day is coming soon and I still don’t have a date.”

The
Vampire said, “First I will teach you about flowers, especially violets.  Women love violets, so if you can bring them on your first date, the girl will always remember you.”

The
Vampire went on to say, “Next, I will teach you about table manners.  It is very important to a woman how you act at the dinner table.  Be kind and considerate, and always follow my table rules.”

Finally the
Vampire said, ‘You are almost ready, I just need to show you how to be nice to women and then you will be a better man, and be ready to ask a girl for a date.”

Now the
Viking was ready.  He saw the beautiful girl again, but this time he had learned from the Vampire and he was ready to show her that he was a better man.

He came up to her with
violets and said, “I was not a nice man last time I talked to you.  I brought you violets to say that I am sorry, and I wanted to ask you if you will be my Valentine’s date.”

The beautiful girl said, “Sure, you were not nice before. But you’ve changed and I think you’ve become a better man. So I would love to be your
Valentine’s date.”

The
Viking finally became a better man and had a Valentine’s date.

W Story-Wally Walrus and Willy Whale 管理者 2011-07-21

Wally Walrus and Willy Whale

A
walrus and a whale were born in the ocean but they were brought to an aquarium when they were very small.

They both grew up and played in the same tank and were given the names
Wally Walrus and Willy Whale.  When they were small they loved their tank and were great friends.

But as
Wally Walrus and Willy Whale got older, they both grew and got too big.  The problem was they were too big for the small, tank and always bumped each other.

People thought
Wally Walrus and Willy Whale were playing, and they loved to watch them bumping each other in the tank, but they were actually fighting each other all the time because the tank was too small.

One day a
witch heard a small sound. She was a special witch. When she heard that sound, she would come and talk to animals to see if she could help them.

To
Wally Walrus and Willy Whale, the witch asked, “What is wrong? I know people think you are playing but I see you are actually fighting.  Do you want me to help you with magic?”

Wally Walrus and Willy Whale both looked at each other and then said at the same time “You are right.  We are always fighting.  Can you cast a spell on us and to take us out of this tank?”

The
witch said, “I can, but there is a problem. You can’t be together; one of you will be in the sea and the other one will be in the ocean.”

Wally Walrus and Willy Whale were sad, because they knew they would miss each other, but they both decided that they had to leave the tank.

So the
witch cast the spell.  The walrus then went to the sea, and the whale went to the ocean.

Wally Walrus and Willy Whale were happy at first, but then they both realized they were alone, and began to miss each other. They both wanted to go back to the tank and be friend there.

So the
witch heard the sound from Wally Walrus in the sea, and the sound from Willy Whale in the ocean.  She needed to take a boat to see each one of them.

When her boat arrived, from
Wally Walrus and Willy Whale she heard the same thing. Each said, “I miss my friend. Can I go back to the tank?”

The
witch said, “If you go back, you will be with your friend, but you can never come back to the sea or the ocean.  Is that what you want?

Again, they both answered at the same time, “Yes, I miss my friend. The ocean and the sea are great, but they are not good without my best friend.”

So the
witch cast another spell and Wally Walrus and Willy Whale were sent back to the tank. After that, when people saw them bumping each other in the tank, they were actually playing, not fighting.

Y Story-Making a Yellow Yo-Yo 管理者 2011-07-20

Making a Yellow Yo-Yo

There was a
young boy who was very creative.  He tried making things and thought that maybe one day he could sell something.

The
young boy would show his mom something and his mom would always say, “That is ugly. Nobody will buy it. Stop trying to make anything.”  He heard his mom but he wouldn’t give up.

Once, the
young boy tried making a motorcycle helmet for dogs.  His mom said, “That is ugly, dogs won’t wear it, dogs will want to chew on it. Nobody will buy it.  Stop trying to make anything.”  He heard his mom but he didn’t give up.

Another time the
young boy tried making toys for babies.  His mom said, “Those toys are ugly, babies will only chew on them, like the dogs chewing on the helmets.  Nobody will buy them. Stop trying to make anything.”  He heard his mom but he didn’t give up.

Still another time the
young boy tried making a chair out of shorts people wear.  His mom said, “That is ugly, nobody makes a chair out of shorts.  Nobody will buy it.  Stop trying to make anything.”  He heard his mom but didn’t give up.

The
young boy didn’t want to hear his mom’s advice anymore. He said, “Mom, it might be true, I may never sell anything, but if I give up, I will never have the chance to make something special. Mom, I understand your point, but I will never give up.”

So the
young boy decided to make something he already knew, a yo-yo, but he would make it in his own special way.  He would use only yellow yarn for the entire yo-yo.  He would also teach children to make their own special yo-yos, also using only yellow yarn.

Finally the
young boy took a yellow yarn yo-yo to the park and started showing it to other children.  The children loved the yellow yarn yo-yo. And they played it with him for hours.

One day a man came from a toy store. He also played the
yo-yo for hours.  After he was finished with it he asked, “Who made this kind of yo-yo’s?”  The young boy said, “It was me.” The man said, “If that is true, I want to talk with you about these yo-yos in my toy store.”

After selling his
yo-yos in the man’s toy store, the young boy knew he had proved his point to his mother. He didn’t need to say anything. He just took his mom to the toy store and showed her his beautiful yellow yarn yo-yos.

X and Z Story-The Zebra Loves X-Mas 管理者 2011-07-19

The Zebra Loves X-Mas

A
zebra was born in a zoo.  He was different from other zebras, because the other zebras were born in the jungle.

Because he was raised by the owner of the
zoo, who was a person, he was more like a person than an animal.

At the
zoo, they celebrated all holidays.  The zebra’s favorite holiday was X-Mas, because he loved seeing children get presents.

The owner of the
zoo always gave the children stuffed animals for X-Mas. After many years, the owner came to find he had never given the zebra a present for X-Mas. So he decided to give him a stuffed person for X-Mas.

The
zebra was very happy, because he finally got a present. So he said ”Thank you” to the owner.

Every year the children would also say “thank you” with a thank-you letter.  The owner loved looking at all these thank-you letters after
X-Mas.

During first few years, the
zebra would always say “thank you” too, but after some time he never remembered to say “thank you” to the owner.

The owner began to wonder whether the
zebra really appreciated the present or not.  He decided to try one more year and see if the zebra would say “thank you”.  Again the zebra did not remember to say “thank you”.

So the owner decided not to give the
zebra a present for X-Mas.  When all the children got their presents, the zebra looked for his, but there was no present for him.

The
zebra asked the owner a question, “Where is my present?”  The owner said, “You never “say thank you”, so I have decided not to give you a present.”

The
zebra became crazy and started running around the zoo.  He was running so fast, so he lost control and ran into the fence and hurt his leg.

The owner ran to him quickly and said, “I think the
zebra is really hurt. We need to get an X-Ray for his leg.”

So the owner took the
zebra to the hospital to get an X-Ray examination. The X-Ray showed that he had broken his leg and would need to stay in the hospital.

During the time when he was in the hospital, the
zebra realized that he was wrong. He decided to ask the children to help him write a thank-you letter every year when the owner had given him a present.

So from that year on, the owner always gave the
zebra a stuffed person as a present, and the zebra always gave the owner a thank-you letter for the X-Mas present.
